Reims is a year round destination with four seasons. The summers are hot, the fall is beautiful, winter is charming, and spring brings green grass, flowers, and the begining of the new wine season.

Late spring and summer see warm temperatures in Reims; June through  August regularly sees temperatures in the 80s. This makes it the ideal season for strolling through the city center and for festivals.

Fete de la Musique takes place in many cities in France and Reims is definitely one to celebrate. This celebration of all types of music happens on summer solstice day, June 21. Every type of music is to be found, concerts and street performers alike!

One of the best times to visit Reims and France in general is Bastille day, the French Independence day on July 14th. July 13 sees a grand fireworks display followed by a very active nightlife, it is one of the most festive days of the year to visit.

Another great music festival is the
Reims Jazz Festival taking place in November.

There is never a bad time of year to visit the major Champagne houses although fall is when the grapes peak. Favorite tours take place at the following houses:

      • Pommery
      • Taittinger
      • Piper Heidsieck

Reims is rather close to Germany and Luxembourg and the Christmas market trend from these cultures does bleed over to the city of Reims. Among extensive Christmas decorations, the city center is full of stands selling local goods and treats to get in the spirit. Reims does receive a considerable amount of snow and quite low temperatures, thick coats, hats, and gloves are usually  needed December through February.
