University of Birmingham LLM Scholarships, UK

For 2016 entry Birmingham Law School are offering a number of scholarships to applicants for its taught LLM programmes.

In 2015, the awards made were;

  • up to £5,500 for international students (Non EU)
  • up to £2,000 for UK/EU students.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Applicants must already have applied for admission to the LLM degree in order to be considered for a scholarship. Scholarship amounts for 2016 will be confirmed soon, though are likely to be similar to 2015.

Applying for a scholarship

Applicants are required to complete the application form and send it to [email protected] The application includes a 500 word statement, in which students should address why they should be made an award. You must include your University ID number in your letter of motivation and should also include a scanned copy of your latest academic transcript. The deadline for applications is Friday 24 June 2016.

Please do not submit a scholarship application before you have applied for admissions to an LLM programme. These applications will not be considered.

Successful applicants will be notified in July 2016. Scholarships are not payable directly to successful applicants but are set off against the University fee invoice for 2016-2017 and will be transferred once successful applicants have paid the balance owed by them to the University. Unfortunately, due to the number of applications we receive we are unable to contact unsuccessful applicants with feedback on their application.

Scholarships from The University of Birmingham

Scholarships to cover fees and/or maintenance costs may be available. To discover whether you are eligible for any award across the University, and to start your funding application, please visit the University’s  Postgraduate Funding Database .

International students can often gain funding through overseas research scholarships, Commonwealth scholarships or their home government.
